This imitation leaf is a lot more durable than real gold, so you can get away with applying more pressure.

I then burnish the leaf down with my cotton ball to smooth it out.

Using my Xcaliber brush, I start to outline the leaf.

I overlap the leaf edge with the black paint to hold it down.

At this point I lay a coat of clear over the leaf and the black outline, to seal it.

After my clear dries, I start my design.

I'm going to keep the design simple, so it isn't distraction from the paint finish.
